Poetrees

Rain, spurting from ground to sky,
roots of trees keeping you dry,
drinking oceans and snaking on ambient geography,
calling the wings of birds to fan away the unbearable heat,
in the jungle of your mind, caught
in the tangle of neurons there lies, rejoice, the face of bliss,
simply holding its hands towards you.
Shake the cobwebs of despair, for
the light, blinding the shadow, is yours to taste.
You, Brother, you are the light keeper.

Elegie – Gabriel Fauré
